The TDI Trap is a multi-species pheromone trap made in the U.S.A. It is designed to monitor beetles and moths in institutions. Sticky traps are pre-loaded with sex pheromones, and are ready to be used upon removal from their protective pouch. Unexposed traps have a two-year shelf life when properly stored as they are protected from excessive heat and light in their unopened pouch. Because of the environmental sensitivity of pheromones, traps that have been opened and sited in the field should be replaced every four weeks and more frequently if the glueboard is covered with dust.
TDI Traps can be folded tent-like and secured with the included twist-tie to storage racks, conduits or other non-food processing equipment. In dusty environments the glueboard can be protected by placing the unfolded trap inside a dust cover such as the Bell Trapper Monitor box.
Like any pheromone the TDI Trap is an insect monitoring tool, not a control device, and is an important element of any stored product insect IPM program. Traps are packaged in sealed envelopes.
